From Selmer: Power and finesse. The “Concept TT” is an artistic offer which complements the “Chorus” models, greatly enriching the Selmer Paris B-flat trumpet line. A design based on the “TT” technology (“Twin Tube" or double tube mouthpipe) gives it exceptional acoustic qualities : a direct, centred sound, very open harmonics, excellent response and a wide dynamic range. All these elements contribute to remarkable flexibility and make it particularly suitable for musicians playing in orchestras and larger or smaller groups (soloist or section). The quality of its functional elements (slide adjustment, valve functioning and grip) and the care taken in making the “Concept TT” result in a world class trumpet.
This Selmer Concept TT Bb Trumpet is truly incomparable to any other trumpet we've had in stock. On the surface, at a glance, it looks like any other trumpet, but once you get up close and hold it in your hands, you'll notice it's ergonomically different from most trumpets you've held in your hands. Then when you play it, you'll notice a wider leadpipe and wider bell throat that gives more resonance and projection than most trumpets you've played. There was some experimentation when Selmer was making this instrument, and it resulted in an incredibly free-blowing experience.
"TT" refers to the trumpet's twin tube leadpipe system. It's got an inner and an outer leadpipe, so the mouthpipe is hidden internally rather than wrapped around the leadpipe. The inner leadpipe is not attached to any bracing, so your inital airflow and projection won't be affected by any soldering or attached metal. The trumpet's bracing, in general, is minimal so as to prevent any of your sound being impacted from unnecessary metal holding things together. It's got a reverse leadpipe/tuning slide setup as well so your air has more and more room to fill through as it travels through your horn. This doesn't make the horn less responsive. In fact, the nickel inner slides and pipes help carry your air and sound quickly from your mouthpiece to your bell to give you immediate response, and immense control. The contruction of the valve casing was built to give the player a nice "grip" feeling while they are holding the trumpet, and it's wide bell throat and flare give the horn enough projection for any concert hall or venue.
Overall, our Selmer Concept TT is in fantastic shape. It's got a bit over lacquer wear on the underside of the upper 3rd valve slide, but that's it. That is not an exaggeration. The rest of the instrument is pristine. Including its case. It came in clean and ready to go, and after thorough inspection from our professional trumpet technician, it is ready for sale. This trumpet has gotten attention already, even before putting it up on our website, so we have a strong feeling it won't be here for very long. So make a point to come out to Horn Stash and see what this Selmer Concept TT Bb Trumpet is all about. You will not regret it!
